Brollachan Highlights
Summer and fall performances will showcase Brollachan in a number of major festivals and events. The St. John River Society is featuring Brollachan at Riverfest on June 6th. Then the trio is off to the Stan Rogers Folk Festival in Canso for a show in July. Another highlight of Brollachan's summer is the annual New Brunswick Highland Games and Scottish Festival. And... to cap off the festival season in style, Brollachan is thrilled to be performing at the Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton in October 2008.
Back from Stanfest 2008
If you've never been to Stanfest, you're missing a first rate folk festival. This was a first for Brollachan. And what a weekend! Three days of non-stop music from a myriad of genres and countries being represented. What an opportunity to connect with other artists and just breathe in the sounds. When we first heard that Andy Irvine would be performing we thought 'spectacular'. When we realized that we were sharing the same stage, it couldn't get better! Brollachan was also fortunate to share shows with singer songwriter, Irish Mythen and Newfoundland's Shanneyganock.
Considering just one of the daytime shows featured Valdy, Ron Hynes, Andy Irvine and Buffy Sainte Marie, audiences had to make difficult choices as to which performers to see at any given point. So, take in this amazing event in 2009! The organization and hospitality of this event was exceptional along with 3 days of blue skies pleasing the thousands of music lovers. A big thanks to Troy Greencorn and the many volunteers.
